At country level, we serve policy makers, civil society organisations or community representatives, research managers and institutions – and others that shape national thinking and policy, such as the media.Activities can include support to ministries, ministers and national research councils for facilitation of national consultations and capacity building sessions.
For example: 

• developing governance structures and policy frameworks for health research,
• setting and managing national priorities,
• research management and
• communicating research to policy and practice.

In providing support to countries, COHRED typically brings together experts and practitioners from other countries (north and south) to facilitate the sharing of experience. The aim is to build long-term south-south links and cooperation.
