PREMIOS CARLOS SLIM EN SALUD 2013

Los Premios Carlos Slim surgen con el objetivo de reconocer a las personas e instituciones comprometidas con el mejoramiento de los niveles de salud de la población de América Latina y el Caribe, cuyo compromiso se ha cristalizado en la generación de soluciones para resolver los principales retos en materia de salud pública que enfrenta la región, ya sea a través de la investigación, la innovación en programas de atención, o el desarrollo de estrategias y bienes públicos.

Los Premios Carlos Slim se otorgan anualmente en dos categorías:

Premio Carlos Slim a la Trayectoria en Investigación

Este premio honra a aquellas personas que a través de su investigación, han generado soluciones para los principales retos en materia de salud pública de la región.

Premio Carlos Slim a la Institución Excepcional

Este premio honra a aquellas instituciones sin fines de lucro, constituidas en algún país de la región latinoamericana, cuyos programas, ya sean académicos o de trabajo en campo, contribuyen con nuevas y mejores alternativas en materia de salud para la población de la región. Esto puede ser en las áreas de la atención, la prevención, investigación o formación de recursos humanos.

MONTO DE LOS PREMIOS

En adición a la entrega de la estatuilla Premios Carlos Slim en Salud, se otorga un reconocimiento económico de $100,000 dólares americanos (o su equivalente en moneda local) por categoría.

PRESENTACIÓN DE NOMINACIONES

Las nominaciones serán recibidas del miércoles 1 de agosto al miércoles 31 de octubre de 2012 a las 14:30 horas en línea en el sitio www.salud.carlosslim.org

Para dudas o aclaraciones enviar un correo electrónico a la dirección premios@salud.carlosslim.org en donde daremos respuesta a su comunicación dentro de un plazo máximo de 3 días hábiles. De no recibir respuesta en ese plazo, favor de enviar nuevamente su solicitud.

PUBLICACIÓN DE RESULTADOS

Los resultados serán dados a conocer a más tardar el día 15 de febrero de 2013 en la página web del Instituto Carlos Slim de la Salud (www.salud.carlosslim.org). Los galardonados serán notificados ese mismo día por vía electrónica.

CEREMONIA DE ENTREGA

La ceremonia de entrega de la edición 2013 de los Premios Carlos Slim en Salud se llevará entre los meses de marzo y abril del 2013 en la Ciudad de México.

THE 2013 CARLOS SLIM AWARDS IN HEALTH

The main objective of the Carlos Slim Awards in Health is to recognize both individuals and institutions that are committed to improving the health of Latin American populations and as a result, facilitated the generation of solutions that address the main public health challenges that Latin America is facing. These solutions may be a product of research efforts, innovations in healthcare or through the development of effective implementation strategies and public goods.

The Carlos Slim Awards in Health are granted annually in the following two categories:

The Carlos Slim Award for Life Achievement in Research

This award honors individuals dedicated to both health research and to the creation of solutions that address the greatest public health challenges facing Latin America. This award is given to scientists who have been recognized by the international scientific community and, having worked in Latin America, have provided effective alternatives to reducing existing public health gaps within the region.

The Carlos Slim Award for Outstanding Institution

This award honors non-profit Latin American organizations whose programs, whether academic or in the field, have contributed successfully to the improvement of health of populations within Latin America. These contributions can be in the areas of health care, prevention, research or human resources training.

AWARD AMOUNTS

In addition to receiving the Carlos Slim Awards statuette, an economic incentive of US$100,000 dollars (or its equivalent in local currency) is granted per award category.

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Nominations will only be accepted online at www.salud.carlosslim.org beginning Wednesday August 1st through Wednesday October 31st, 2012 at 14:30 hours (Mexico City time). Nomination details and requirements, as well as, the nomination format can be found at the Carlos Slim Health Institute website at www.salud.carlosslim.org.

PUBLICATION OF RESULTS

CARLOS SLIM AWARDS CEREMONY

The award ceremony of the 2013 Carlos Slim Awards in Health will be between March and April 2013 in Mexico City.
