6 Making priorities work
Ensure action after the priority setting, and continuous review of progress
This is probably the most challenging phase of the priority setting process, as its success is highly dependent on the response and support of the environment. At this stage, the key concern is how to ensure that the identified and ranked priorities guide the production and management of national health research at a given period of time.
Key actions
Ensure action after priority setting
- Set up strategies to support the integration of defined priorities into the national health research agenda
Monitor and evaluate (M&E)
- How priorities are being integrated in the health research agenda
- How health research results are being used in decision making
Based on the M&E results, assess the need for a new priority setting cycle
